Kennedy’s assassination, with a nation deep in mourning and the world looking on in stunned disbelief, Jacqueline Kennedy found the strength to set aside her own personal grief for the sake of posterity and begin the task of documenting and preserving her husband’s legacy. In January of 1964, she and Robert F. Kennedy approved a planned oral-history project that would capture their first-hand accounts of the late President as well as the recollections of those closest to him throughout his extraordinary political career. For the rest of her life, the famously private Jacqueline Kennedy steadfastly refused to discuss her memories of those years, but beginning that March, she fulfilled her obligation to future generations of Americans by sitting down with historian and Pulitzer Prize winner Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., and recording an astonishingly detailed and unvarnished account of her experiences and impressions as the wife and confidante of John F. Recomiendo NO comprar este libro (por lo menos en su versi�n en espa�ol)

No recomiendo comprar este libro ya que no aporta realmente demasiada informaci�n sobre los a�os de la administraci�n Kennedy. Las opiniones de Jackie que se presentan en este libro demuestran su desd�n y desprecio por la mayor�a de la gente (m�s que nada funcionarios del gobierno y otros mandatarios) que conoci� durante los a�os de la Casa Blanca. Lamentablemente tampoco aporta informaci�n pol�ticamente relevante ya que como ella misma comenta, no conversaba sobre las cuestiones pol�ticas con el presidente por lo tanto la publicaci�n de estas grabaciones m�s que contribuir a la historia oral de la Administraci�n, contribuye a dejarnos ver un poco m�s de la personalidad de Jackie, no involucrada emocionalmente con las pol�ticas del gobierno o las ideas del Presidente.
La edici�n en espa�ol es REALMENTE vergonzosa, la traducci�n es muy mala y poco confiable, al leer muchos p�rrafos uno se da cuenta de que la traducci�n est� siendo literal y las frases pierden sentido.
Presentar este libro como las "conversaciones hist�ricas sobre la vida con JFK" es crear demasiadas expectativas que el libro no cumple, para los seguidores de la bibliograf�a sobre los kennedy: un enga�o.

Good book, however Amazon shipped it with evident water damage

I bought this book for my wife. She's enjoying it, and I would rate it higher than 3 stars... however, incredibly when I opened the package (in perfect shape) I found the book to be damaged by water. The cover and more than half of the pages had wrinkles as if it was wet and then let dry. I don't understand how Amazon ships a book in this condition. I updated the photo on the Packaging Rating section, as I can't show it here.
