Lies that lead to love who would have thought

waking up to find your world has become a nightmare you don't recognize can be a drain on your soul but to find that your life had be taken away and misused in such a way is heart breaking to know the loss of a child and feel that pain in your heart for so long that when the truth is right in front of you you become so lost will Cheyenne find her way back or will her world be forever lost to despair find out in this amazing tale of lost and found and see where it will lead you you laugh you'll ugly cry and you will find your heart pounding at the words this tale will tell this is a must read as in all the timeless series I have found Lisa L Wiedmeier has spun a series of stories so thrilling and so well put together you can't stop reading them I loved the book and will be glad to see more of Cheyenne and her family as they grow in power and numbers the love and magic flow as evenly as the pages of the story this is a great love story

Loved the books!

I loved these books! There are touches of Twilight, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings, but the author has created a fresh new world for the Timeless. At one point, I read for four hours straight without lifting my eyes from the book! Buy them; it will be the best money you ever spent!!!!!

Yes, she needs a better proofreader and editor. There is repetition of certain descriptive phrases, and there are errors, such as incorrect words or names, but that in no way detracted from my enjoyment of the story.

I'm so happy that Lisa Wiedmeier continued the Timeless Series!!! This book primarily takes place 16 years after the last books, and is the story of Cheyenne and Colt's daughter, Kitty. She is deeply involved in the Timeless clans, and I loved seeing all the twists and turns her life is taking, as well as all the surprises that come up along the way! My only complaint about this book (which really isn't a complaint at all) is that it left me wanting the next book - RIGHT NOW!!!

I recommend it to my friends

I have both the author's prior books and his "Breaking the Habit" book is one of my all-time favorite books. (This is from someone with well over 700 books on my bedroom shelves and many others on my kindle.) Having said that, initially I wasn't all that interested in this book. I was familiar with the premise, but I thought it would be geared to people with serious illnesses or health problems, and I'm mostly healthy. I've been working with his meditations though, so I decided I might as well order the book on kindle and see what it was like. I'm so glad I did! I'm going to have to add it to my short list of favorite books.

Yes, I think this book can be very beneficial for people with serious health concerns, but I think it can be equally beneficial for people without them. Basically, this book is for anyone who wants to change some aspect of their life. Does that apply to anyone you know?

This is a practical book. It discusses things in easy-to-understand language and gives exercises and tools that people can easily use. It is backed by science -- both as a combination of research and empirical evidence. Neuroscience is certainly heady stuff, but Dr. Joe breaks it down in very clear explanations with the clever use of analogies that help you understand how these complex biological mechanisms work. Once you understand better why or how it works, it opens the door for you to believe it can work, and all the many examples in this book show the amazing things that happen once you believe it's possible.

This isn't a self improvement or self help book. Saying that just doesn't adequately capture it. This book is about transforming your life. I've been doing some of Dr. Joe's prior work, and I just picked up the new Meditation 1 that goes with this book. I can definitely say that even in the short time (about 3 weeks) that I've renewed my daily meditation practice, I can see a noticeable improvement in my life. I am happier, calmer, and generally more positive. I can't wait to wake up in the mornings, so I can do my meditation. And if I can see that amount of change in 3 weeks, I'm excited about what continued practice can bring.

You Are The Placebo: A paradigm shift for personal transformation

Dr. Joe Dispenza’s most recent work, You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter, is the perfect follow-on to his earlier work, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. Those who have studied the rationale and practiced the procedures discussed in Breaking the Habit (as I have done) will find this latest volume offers even more clarity about how to “fine tune” meditative sessions, so that practitioners can change themselves in significant and lasting ways.

You Are the Placebo recounts compelling stories of people who have healed themselves – and remained healthy, by following a mindset focused on possibilities, rather than obstacles and problems. They didn’t allow the opinion of others – “professional” or otherwise – to short-circuit the beliefs they held and in many cases, felt intuitively about healing.

Dr. Joe’s process in part involves “open focus” – closing one’s eyes, taking attention from the outer world and placing it on the space around us in a way that removes considerations about the material world, allowing us to…not think. Transport yourself to the present moment, moving your intention and thus your energy to a place beyond time and thought. Allow your brain, the central nervous system, and the rest of your body to begin working together, becoming more balanced and integrated.

Instead of a linear, material world of limited potential (mostly because we keep responding to new events in the same conditioned, often unproductive ways), it is possible to enter the “quantum field” of unlimited possibility existing beyond space and time. In breaking the habit of being our old selves, we can begin to shape a new and more productive physical and emotional reality.

In current brain research, the evolving science of neuroplasticity confirms that our brains are capable of change and improvement to an advanced age, via the construction of new neural pathways or synapses. It is becoming increasingly evident that the quality of how and what we think can go a long ways toward keeping us healthy – or making us sick.

So often in life, those who are adept at helping others heal have had to go through their own baptism of fire first. In the first section of You Are The Placebo, Dr. Joe discusses what many would call – at the very least - a miraculous recovery, after he suffered severe spinal injuries when struck by an SUV while cycling in a triathlon. How he fashioned – from the inside out – the philosophy and practice that led him, against the odds to a place of optimum health, presents a powerful and informative read.

Fifteen months ago, for over six weeks, a ruptured disc placed me in the most excruciating, unremitting pain I’ve ever experienced. A specialist told me “The only option for you is spinal fusion”. A prescribed medicinal pain patch – dialed down in potency by 75% at the pharmacy before it was filled – still literally almost killed me. The healing chiropractic work Dr. Joe performed at his clinic, along with my own meditation, following the very practices described in this book, enabled me to achieve a full recovery without surgery –in the process leaving behind a number of my old self’s limiting habits.

I have also come to feel the incredible power and serenity that the simple act of expressing gratitude on a daily basis has brought into my life. We’ve all heard about the importance of expressing it after something helpful has happened. Before meeting Dr. Joe, I had never heard anyone recommend being grateful beforehand. Try it and see what you think.

One very powerful aspect of his work involves the recognition that all of our behaviors begin first as thoughts. You think about a previous experience involving sadness, fear or anger. Soon your brain begins to respond by interpreting that emotion from the record of your past, leading to physical changes. With the body fully involved, you act out that emotion, which through time can become a temperament, even a personality. With your emotions driving your thoughts, you simply create more of your past. The result is a predictable, repetitive linear path, not unlike scenes from the movie Groundhog Day.

Dr. Joe teaches you how to turn off this destructive thinking before the body can begin to act upon it. Eventually it can be left behind altogether, as a brighter future is brought into being with the help of new responses fashioned by and for yourself.

If our thoughts truly create our reality – or at the very least have a major impact on its formation, then an understanding and practice of the techniques fully discussed in this book can provide actionable advice leading to profound levels of personal transformation. As Dr. Joe says, in his Introduction about examples of the self-healing he later discusses, “…you don’t have to be a monk or nun, a scholar, or a spiritual leader to accomplish similar feats.”

My own experience in studying and practicing what Dr. Joe discusses in You Are The Placebo leads me without hesitation to recommend his work to anyone who desires to bring about systemic change in their lives, and who is willing to spend a bit of time and self-discipline to do so. Break the habit of being yourself –by yourself - and my guess is you’ll conclude that continuing to invoke the old ways of responding to things no longer deserves to play a role in your present – or your future.

Hopeful book combining science and the spirit

This is a very hopeful book combining science and spirituality with the author's own experience and that of several others. He convincingly writes that the state of our health may not be as much out of our control as many of us have been brought up to believe. Basically, he says, the body experiences what the mind believes to be true, although it's more complex than that.

The book begins with a story from the author's past. As a 23-year-old cyclist, Joe Dispenza shattered and compressed six spinal vertebrae in a freak accident in which he was dragged along the road. Surgeons suggested radical surgery and planting a rod in his back as the only solution. This would mean lifelong pain, but it seemed a choice between that and certain paralysis. Dispenza chose a third option which seemed more like a fantasy than anything reasonable.

With faith and concentration, he gave his body mental instructions and a template for health, and refused to let any thoughts slip through of scenarios he didn't want to experience. Although his return to perfect health seemed like a miracle, he's sure there's more to it. He believes that as he selected one of several possible futures (of his choice) and experienced the appropriate emotions in anticipation, the cells of his body began to accommodate him.

He believes negative emotions raise our stress hormones (such as cortisol and adrenaline), and changing our internal state through our thoughts, attitudes, emotions and habits can change our external states. This sort of practice has even been given the name of self-directed neuro-plasticity. We direct the formation of new neural pathways and destructions of old ones through what we chose to allow in our brains.

As a Christian, I'm excited to see how this lines up with principles in the Bible (of belief and faith preceding outcomes). I've read several other, Christian-based healing books in the past which suggest similar outcomes, and it's great to see a book based on scientific studies agree. Although I'm a dunce when it comes to science and quantum physics, I could just manage to wrap my mind around this if I took it in small doses. I'm hoping to see these medical developments, which seem to back up what many people of deep faith have already known for centuries, herald an exciting future for healing.

This is a cute little book for my girl. She enjoyed reading it with lots of fun facts. Linda loves animal so it was a good book overall. Easy to follow instruction.

SUPER BOOK OF CRAFTS AND TREATS FOR HORSES AND HORSE LOVERS!

This book of Handy Horse Projects form Pet Projects is FULL of wonderful crafts, treats, and ideas for horses and horse lovers. Most of these projects can be done by kids but it is best to have adult supervision because some of them involve scissors and glue or cooking in the kitchen. I really like all the Pet Projects books because they are very crafty looking and set up like a scrapbook so they are really fun even just to look at.
There is a table of contents in the beginning with a handy horseshoe guide that shows how long the project should take. One horseshoe is up to 30 minutes, two horseshoes is up to 1 hour, and three horseshoes means the project will take over an hour. Each project in the book is marked with a number of horseshoes and a list of what you will need to help you complete the project. This makes it very easy to know exactly what you are getting into which if you have ever worked with a preschooler on a project, you know it is important to know what you are getting into before hand.

Great educational craft book

Just downloaded this book on my Kindle iPhone. The content in the book is easy to read and instructions on the crafts are very easy to follow. This would make a great book for 4-H clubs. The projects can be done by kids ages 6-13 in my opinion. There are some crafts for girls as well as boys. I love how there are cute horse tips on the pages too which helps educate the kids on some things about horses. The fact that some crafts use recycling ideas is good too - it introduces them to "upcycling" which is reusing a product for something else rather than just tossing in the trash. The pages are colorful and eye catching which makes the kids want to keep turning the pages. For kids that HAVE horses, they will want to make everything for their horse! Complete entertainer!

Although resonant with familiar tones of gangster sagas we've grown on, this one carves out a place of its own as you read on. Stories about that one life changing incident are often riveting, making Ghalib Danger no exception.
The narrative is crisp, brimming with vivid imagery, to say the least, it's like watching a movie. It does jump back and forth and may sometimes be confusing, but the segments intertwine brilliantly towards culmination.
Characterisation is both beguiling and consistent. The women, however, are a yawn, like in most of Pandey's work, and only serve as tools to amplify the male protagonists.
The story is a complete entertainer, yet, realistic enough to reveal some interesting aspects of underworld behaviour, that have been so far, untouched in Indian gangster stories.
Parts of the story are outright funny, and parts of it manage to touch a chord too. The book is absorbing enough, that it might even leave you a tad disappointed by being such a fast read.

A fiction with a non fiction plot

Lot of non fiction books are written on Mumbai gang war, but surprisingly very few fiction. This fictional book reads like a non fiction, in fact in between it gives the feeling of memoir of a don. Though a bit Bollywoodish in parts (which is no surprise, as its written by a Bollywood movie-maker for the purpose of making into a motion picture). Not sure how would it be as a movie, but as a novel, its a page-turner.

A racy read for people interested in the functioning of the Mumbai underbelly. The usual hodgepodge of all Bollywood underworld stories from Varadarajan Mudaliar to Dawood Ibrahim. The only interesting factor is the Ghalib couplet scattered here and there in the story. Overall an average read!

This Book is a Treat

Managing the Global Workforce is a compelling and comprehensive overview about all the important stuff you need to think about well in advance before you engage in an adventure called 'global business'. The concept of cultural agility is more and more becoming the determining factor when it comes to international business relations. Subject matter expertise won't matter if you cannot communicate and lead and manage well in different legal and cultural environments. The authors made me read this book within 48 hours. I highly recommend it to all line managers, HR, and potential international assignees and really any individual who wants to succeed in business.

Excellent read...

I am usually skeptical of books dealing with the "global workforce" since there has already been so much written on this topic. However, I really enjoyed reading this book and found that it provides a solid overview of the most important issues of today and a practical framework for how to solve for them. I would recommend this book for line or HR leaders who are new to global teams or need a refresher on the most important global workforce issues in today's business climate.
